Sometimes a link will make sense to be in more than one category, at other times it won't.

For example, say you had a site like CGI-Resources and had a category for perl scripts, and a category for "link scripts". Then a person comes along with Links-2. Where do they put it ? Do they put it in both ? Does that swell your links db enormously as people place multiple entries ?

How are others dealing with this ?

What I've done is linked "Related Categories" where similar links are found. Putting in duplicate entries in the database will slow it down.

I fail to see how a link to your site addesses the question of how people are managing duplicate entries.

I'm asking a serious question. It is an issue that everyone who runs links must address at some point. Each person probably comes to some unique solution/compromise. I am interested in hearing the thought process and ultimate resolution. There is tremendous knowledge in the Links userbase, and we can all benefit from sharing.

I'm missing what a link to your site tells me about dealing with dups. Can you take time to explain the issues you had, and how you resolved them ?

I use the multiple category mod. It just adds another field to the db, so it saves a lot of space.
