i moved my files to a new server, now i can't access the linksmanager. I get an auth. failed when i try to log on

Check your config file (links.cfg) and also the required files in the admin.cgi file. Remember that you are requiring the .cfg, db_utils.pl, db.pl, and admin_html.pl files in your admin.cgi.

Most likely you have the wrong path to the links.cfg file in your admin.cgi script.

If you are using .htaccess...You need to edit the .htaccess file to point to the new path on your new server where the .htpasswd file is located.

Either open the .htaccess file in a Text Editor and edit the paths and then FTP the file back to your server...

Or use vi in telnet and edit the file via UNIX commands.

Did you change the permission of your .cgi files to 755???
