File Corruption?

File Corruption?
Hi,
I was wondering if there was a history of file corruptions with this script because when I built my database today, I lost over 500 links and can not find a reason why they were deleted; no one has authorization onto my server or admin... no modifications were made; nothing in the scripts have been touched for 3-4 months.

Any ideas why I would of lost all of these files and any way I can get them back? I did not notice any error messages at any point lately.

Sometimes data can just get corrupted, thats why links 2 builds backups of your database... Cool. As Links 2 uses a flat file database if multiple people try and access it (especially if you don't have flock), then the files may get corrupt. Just one of those things, thank God for backups...lol

Errr.........not using flock would not delete your whole database.

Also, Links2 comes with flock turned on so unless he is using something like Win95 as his OS which I doubt, then flock will be on.

It is more likely that he accidentally deleted the data or someone hacked his ftp account or something.

- Flock was on
- I'm a girl, not a guy (not that it's relevant, lol)
- I didn't delete anything (I wasn't in my FTP program anywhere around that time) and no one hacked in... but I used the backup and all is fine now.
Sorry for asking an obvious question ;)

I've had problems like this when more then one person ran the nph-build.cgi at the same time. Maybe you clicked on the link, and reloaded the script in the middle of it re-building?
