I have installed links 2.0 on 1 servers. I chcnged hosting service and installed on a new server successfully. While building new categoreis and URLs in admin interface I got this error:

Error Message : Error building! Links database is 0 bytes!
Script Location : /usr/sites/dotla.com/cgi-bin//links/admin/nph-build.cgi

I tried to locate the file where this is coming from, but no luck yet. Can someone help me with this please?

Heya...

You want to check your links.cfg file..

Chances are your problem is located in there in one of the path statements, near the top of the file...

Hope that helps...

I hope someone can help! I have reinstalled a clean copy of links.cfg and I still got the error, therefore I don't think the error is with links.cfg.

After adding new links or category the error occurs whether I build "staggered" or "build all". If you notice there are 2 slach(//) Cgi-bin. Error message is pasted below, so is my links.cfg file.
Thanks people

You need to add links before building your directory. If your links.db file is empty and you have not added links to it, guess what...you won't be able to BUILD your directory.

_I_ just added a link, because like Eliot I thought it was the empty links.db causing the problem. But it's not ...

This leaves:

* Check your permissions - your /usr/sites/dotla.com/www/links MUST be chmod 777

* Check your paths:
Is /usr/sites/dotla.com/www where your document root is?
Is /usr/sites/dotla.com/cgi-bin where your cgi-bin is?

My LINKS.DB is not empty. Links have been added, about 30 or so. Again the problem is those 2 slash while building nph-build!
