I'm new to this - please don't get irritated if the solution to this problem is obvious ...
When I use 'Build All' from the Links 2.0 Admin menu, I always get the following error report (truncated):
Building Pages
Pages built on 6 Jul 1999 at 15:14:36

Backing up database . . .
Backing up links, category and email database (File::Copy) ...
CGI ERROR

Error Message : Unable to copy links backup. Reason: Permission denied
Script Location : <path-to>/nph-build.cgi
Perl Version : 5.00404
Permission on all files in the 'data' directory is -rw-rw-rw-
I get the same result with a staggered build.
The effect seems to be that I can't actually link to any of the links! I always get a message like this:
Error: Can't find link id: 7
Can anyone help please?
