I would like to give visitors to my site the following option:

[fill in your emailadress if you lost your ID number]
(To let people generate their own rate.cgi html-code, so they can let visitors from THEIR OWN SITE rate their link in my database.

The script mail_rate_code_.cgi would have to do this:

1) check if the emailadress exist.
(if exists more then once, get "all" links-information)
2) mail ID number (+ rate.cgi code)to person

I've never personally used Links before (although I'm aquiring a website within the next week or so which uses it so I'm 'brushing up' on it :-) but I am a pretty experienced Perl Scripter.

I believe that it may be easier to have a script do a search based on a URL, rather than an e-mail address, and check on the code for that HTML and e-mail it to the e-mail address that the person registered with. Or have them enter both an address to mail it to as well as the URL of the site.

Like I said I haven't personally used Links yet, but from what it sounds like you're trying to do I hope this is helpful!
