Well I've searched all over this forum for the answer, and had no luck.

My problem is an easy one. On the home.html page, when I add links in categories they don't increase in number although the link has been added.

For instance I may have 20 links in Cars category, but it's only showing as 10 on home.html. When I add more, it still just shows as 10. This problem seems to be just limited to the home.html page. In the categorie pages it does show the correct amount of links in the sub-categories.

You definitely rebuilt after adding the links?

Have you changed your home page extension from .html to .shtml or something?

Yes, I definitely rebuilt after adding the links. The home page extension is still .html.

I had a problem with the grand total of links not showing up correctly on home.html, and it was a simple tag problem and I fixed that. It seems like both these problems started at the same time, that is why I was thinking maybe it was another tag issue?

Try replacing site_html_print_cat in site_html_templates.pl with an original copy (that sub controls the categories).

Okay...did that..no luck...

The total number of links are still working, but not the number of links in the category. Could it be a chomd problem? site_html_templates.pl is rw-r--r--

This is odd though. Because everything else on the site is working great..just that one little prob...ARGGGG...

Ahhh...I searched a few more times and found someone with a similar problem. It turned out there was no <%categories%> tag. So I removed all the categories manually from the home.html, and just inserted the category tag. I built all, and got an error message- unknown tag: categories.

I usually always edit with text pad, but I used front page once for the home.html and it looks like my tags disappeared.

I am not going to worry about it. I'll just leave the category tag out of the home.html. I think it looks better anyways...
