Cannot access pages!

Cannot access pages!
I installed Links 2.0 and everything (adding, modifying, building) works fine. But I cannot access to the pages. the pages/index.html is CHMOD 0644. And I cannot change this.All other directories are 0777. What could here be the error ? Is this an error of my hoster ?
