I moved some categories from being a sub-category, to being a top-level one. (Awhile ago).

I just found that pages that had them listed as "Related" were not updated, and were thus pointing to 'dead' links.

Don't know if anyone else found this, or if there's a way around it?

How do you actually move categories/subcategoreis? I mean, what is the procedure?

Well, it's more of a re-name.

If I move the category from /level1/category
to just /category

The database "verify" routines don't catch them, and they seem to be orphaned.

Since splitting the database is such a monumental task, I would have figured that part of the process of modifying a category would be to make sure any links pointed to were also updated on the next build.

Apparantly they are not.
