I haven't tried this as yet, but does anybody know if it's possible to run 2 links2 scripts on the same URL and have both scripts produce the categories on one index page?

Am trying to vizualize what the possible glitches might be before I try it... :-)

Depends on how your thinking of doing it. One (quick) way if using the enhanced template mod. Is to write the second category listings to a text file and include that text file in the index page of the first listings page.

If you want the two different copys of links 2 to display their categorys seperatly (i.e, 1 list of categorys from one script, and another list from another one, but on the main page) simply use the normal input for one copy of Links 2, and then make the index page use SSI to call the other index page (making only categorys being shown on the home.html page, so that it doesn't mess up when the code is added to the main page.

I havn't actually done this, but I use SSI on my page at http://www.ace-installer.com to include the index.html page made by Links 2 very nicely. Just a little idea. I'm not sure if there is an easier way

K... Here's what I'm thinking of doing...

Right now I have one script which builds on my main page (Corporate Snapshots) located here:

Then I have another script "Trading Tools" which builds here:

What I'm thinking of doing is getting the second script "Trading Tools" to build the categories in it's own table just under the red line on the main page...

Can this be accomplished by editing the links.cfg for the Trading Tools" Script to point to the main page and then positioning the
<%categories%> tag in the appropriate location???...

I am interested in seeing how this is done as well as we run two scripts but the second one is on a sub domain.

The only way I can think is to upload two copies, edit the home.html template to include

<%category%> and <%category2%>

and then alter the code to interpret category2 at the categories from the other database.

Sorry it took so long but here it is, courtesy of Paul Wilson (who's not around right now)...

For ease of explanation let's call the scripts Links1 and Links2...

First of all...Links2 must be in a separate directory from Links1...

Links2....File: home.html...
Clean off ALL coding and enter this tag <%category%>

Links1... File: home.html...
Place this code in the EXACT location that you want Links2 to print on your main page...

You can then go back to Links2 and then add the HTML coding that you want to appear on your main page...

another way of doing it is to alter the index page and have actual hyperlinks to your other directory listings page ie as oposed to the links being /cars it would be http://domain/cars (cars as an example) i have done this on one of my other sites build the homepage and then linked it to my categories that are located on a different server. you can also allow users to search both your databases using the multi datavase search mod listed in the resource centre.
