About 2 weeks ago I came across a thread explaining how to edit the .css file I think, in the global variables, to automatically add the same header and footer on all of the pages instead of editing each template file.

I can't find the thread again, could anybody point me to it or explain how to do this?

Well, I don't know about editing the .css file, but there is a FAQ in the Resource Center that addresses how to place headers and footers "globally" in all template files.
