Hey there!

This is my first shot. I installed the script and slightly customized it. To make a step further, looked into customization forum. Realized possibilities are wide. Here and there, peeps talk about "mods": I downloaded, I installed, I like it... Question: Where do you find them??

I'm interested in Editor's Pick Mod. Resource center has an extract of forum discussing it:

I'm not lazy, but do I have to read all replies to get instructions?? They don't even look complete to me... First post gives "step-by-step" instruction jumping from step 1 to 7. How am I follow it?

I wish there was a place for fixed and finalized codes, even with link to discussion and explanation how that code evolved. I hope to get at least some ideas. Thank you very much!

In fact, I saw this thread, among dozens others with codes, codes... One may agree that for a person with limited time available to work on a modification, reading digging, and attempting to find the right version of a mod among all corrections and changes discussed in a thread is impossible. I wasn't sure if that topic is "the" mod. I will try now.

In regards to other mods, I knew where they are discussed ("Modifications" forum), but happened to be interested in those modes that are literally discussed and corrected in messages. Tried checking others and indeed was referred to apparently third-party sites with links to download final products (scripts).

I understand that this community is a dynamic enthusiasts' forum, where people THINK over scripts. I respect that. I'd love to do it, too if I had time.

mods come in various sizes and shapes. If they are in the forum here, there is now no way to modify the post ( except for the first 30 minutes after initially posting ). So if there are any corrections ( and there are almost always are), you have to piece it together from the later posts. Yep, that sucks but that is the way it is. But many of the mods occured early in the life of links and during that time corrections were allowed to the posts. But that may not have always been followed so you will need to read thru the posts and even do a search for any subsequent posts related to the original mod.

Check out http://www.gossamer-threads.com/...ces/Links/index.html. Many of these mods come with excellent instructions. But once again you may need to search the forum for corrections/changes/additions.

A good site is http://cgi-resource.co.uk/pages/links2mods.shtml . There are a lot of mods there.
