Hi,

I have a site that allows people to submit both a review and rating of a restaurant.

Have a bit of a problem in that reviews do not appear in
chronological order. Here's an example:
http://www.ccc.com/cgi-bin/restaurants/review.cgi?ID=76

I've searched 2.0 Customization Forum for solution to fix without any luck.
Could be that I've not used the right search words.

Could someone tell me what to fix so that most recent reviews appear 1st?
If so, please dummy-down your answer, i.e. step 1 do this, etc.
As I am CCC (Completely Clueless Coding)

P.S. Am not sure what mod was installed for reviews.
Tried to find out in case this info was needed, but not sure where to look for info.

I'm guessing you are using a mod for the reviews? There is no review.cgi in the bog-standard version of Links2.

Thank you Andy for your reply. Yes, it's a mod that was installed approx 8 years ago. Original programmer found the review mod through Gossamer Threads forum.

I'm not sure which file(s) need to be changed to fix it so review dates show most recent reviews 1st.

Right now it displays review dates like this: Day, Month, Year with lowest number Day to highest:
1-Dec-2002
10-Apr-2007
14-Jan-2005
16-Nov-2001
17-Jun-2004

Instead of the way it should be:
10-Apr-2007
14-Jan-2005
17-Jun-2004
1-Dec-2002
16-Nov-2001

So sort function needs to be "highest"
year, then month, then day.

I'm afraid I don't have a copy of that mod (if its the one I think, then its a pay-for mod by one of the moderators [can't remember his name - don't think I'll live that down if he see's this post )

I could have a look for you. Seems a little odd- as I would have expected it to sort them based on the position in the review file (i.e the date they were added)

This is where Gossamer Links would be very good for you - as its all mySQL based

I'll have a play about this the script, and see if I can get it to work right. May have to charge - depending on how long it takes.
