Preventing cheating on remote voting w/ref tracking
Hi!

I'm using remote voting gateways so users can vote remotelly on the Links2 database by inserting a small HTML code in their pages so visitors vote for them but vote is counted in our system.

One of the most voted sites is probably cheating since I couldn't find their voting link (they keep getting tons of votes anyway).

I already added cookie protecion and so on, but I'd like to know if I can track the exact URL of where those votes are coming from by adding a log generator to the remote voting scritp that would write down date, time and exact URL calling the remote vote script.

Next step would be to integrate some sorta ban list for such sites.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Hi!

Already did...279 pages of threads are too many!

Even if I try to locate your name, 27 pages are still too much. I read some of them but couldn't find it.

Any other combo?

Thanks!

It's obvious that it will take you one minute to locate most of the solutions when you're the one that help out the most in these forums and in the thread we're discusing about...

This one was NOT that easy to find for me... I even didn't recall I posted a question in the same thread, so what to expect?

I'd rather preffer someone else to help me out with further comments or vague ideas rather than face such prepotent ways of giving help...

Thanks anyway.
