Help with displaying cats. and subcats.
Hello,

I've changed site_html_templates file so that my main categories would displayed in a single row that i've setup as a menu side bar. The sub categories are laid out on the center of the page with the default 2 column format. I had followed the directions in this post by Eliot http://www.gossamer-threads.com/...cgi?post=41815#41815 ,created a sub site_html_print_cat and a new sub-routine called sub site_html_print_subcat. Everything works great but I'd like to keep the side bar with the main categories on all of my pages making it easy for a user to jump from one category to another. Is there a way of doing this? It didn't click at first until I went to setup my category template...then realizing that the category tag was the same for cat. and subcats. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,Bill

I'm a little confused. So you need a hack to make only the main categories show up on the menu bar, instead of the sub categories too?

After reading my post I became a bit confused too Smile. If you take a look at the link below you'll see my main categories on the right. After clicking a main cat my sub cats are displayed in the center table just like I want, but I'd like to keep the main cats on the side bar full time if possible.

Here is a link to my site_html_templates text file. http://www.free4everyone.com/...tml_templatestxt.txt

You'll see what I had done to display the main cats. and sub cats differently.

Thanks,Bill
