Re: [anarckie.com] CHMOD 411? In reply to
You can not chmod to 411 becaue the nph-build.cgi can not write ti that directory.

Re: [anarckie.com] CHMOD 411? In reply to
Yeah, I think 411 is UNIX's way of saying 777 (or 755). Not sure, but I seem to remember seeing a post by Eliot (AnthroRules) a while ago about the same kinda thing Tongue

Re: [youradds] CHMOD 411? In reply to
511 = 777

Re: [thomas1] CHMOD 411? In reply to
511 is supposed to be the same as 777 but when making my mod to edit links.cfg from the control panel $build_dir_per is set as 777 but it always prints as 511 - 511 chmods completely differently to 777 - something like rwx-x-x

Re: [thomas1] CHMOD 411? In reply to
Well it doesn't help...

When i create a new Catagory and run Build All, an error comes up saying the dir i just created is Permission Denied.

I check the dir with my ftp and it was CHMODed to
411.

Why does it do this and how can i fix it?

Watch it, neophtye!!!

Comments like that will only lead to heightened frustration levels and personal attacks.

Take a deep breath and reflect on the effect of your comments, which only will elicit offensive remarks, BUDDY!

Re: [anarckie.com] CHMOD 411? In reply to
Really???

We have already provided countless suggestions for possibly fixing you problem.

Have you even tried the following?

1) Changing the $build_root_path and $build_root_url variables to be outside of your cgi-bin folder.

2) Changing the permissions of the new folder outside of yoru cgi-bin folder to 777.

If not, then you are being stubborn, which is the source of your own user problems! Mad

Sorry for not being a mind reader. But you still have your pages inside your cgi-bin!

Nice schisto posting, Paul!!

You fist flamed me via a post saying something related to "two day ban..", which was a direct reply to me, if you had taken the time to look at the Threaded view.

Then you edit that response...and also the reply to me, which you originally posted,'What the hell are you talking about, Eliot"...

What gives, Paul??? A little LoisCsyndrome....Wink

Oh...and then you LOCK the Thread, and then re-open the Thread by editing your last reply from What the hell are you talking about, Eliot to Pardon?.

Buh Bye!

Do not:
-expect everyone to help you
-expect everyone to know the answer
-make attacks on anyone
-swear/use bad language in a public forum

Do:
-be patient and wait for replies if you don't get one immediately
-be as specific with your problem as you can
-try all suggestions
-at least thank users for their time, even if their solution did not solve your problem

If you wish to continue to bicker, do it amongst yourselves outside the forum.

Three strikes and your out, anarckie.com ... that was strike one, you have two left... watch your back.

Eliot you should learn to hold back before you comment.

Firstly if you READ the subject line it was a direct response to anarckie.com. I didn't appreciate his tone so placed a two day ban on him. I didn't feel that my post was appropriate by saying I'd banned him so I edited it. Why the hell would I be replying/banning you?

Yes I admit I said what the hell are you talking about because I had no clue why you said "excuse me, paul" because as I already pointed out my post was directed to anarckie.com and NOT you.

Don't be so quick to judge in future.
