Is there anywhere I can get more information about how user information is stored in the GMail database? I'm currently constructing a portal site, with personalised pages for registered users so I am anticipating a large database of users. I would like to offer these users free mail services too, however I do have concerns about importing/sharing the user database into GMail.

The ideal situation would be to share a common database of usernames with my portal script and the GMail product. Is there any way you could let me know the format of the user database before I start work on this? I'm assuming that this is possible?
