Relaying Denied..

Relaying Denied..
Hi..

I love GM.. it's working like a charm..

I have a couple of questions..

1--When I send an email to a well known address it is returned with the following error message

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
address@address.com (reason: 550 5.7.1 <address@address.com>... Relaying denied)

----- Transcript of session follows -----
.... while talking to mail.address.com.:
>>> RCPT To:<address@address.com>
<<< 550 5.7.1 <address@address.com>... Relaying denied
550 5.1.1 address@address.com... User unknown

Now I don't think this is a GM problem at all. But if anyone could shed any light on this I would be grateful!

The address@address.com is my main business email address, and it works, But some people do say they receive the above error.

2--As my server won't allow cron jobs I have added the following line

my $results = `/path/to/domain/cgi-bin/batch/incoming.pl`;

to login.cgi, logout.cgi join.cgi and register.cgi. IS it safe to also add the line to webmail.cgi

Thanks so much..

Tracy

PS.

If anyone would like to test my site and report any problems (I'm sure there will be some) I would be grateful!

Make sure you have an alias or some sort of email account setup for that user, and that they are allowed to send email so the server.

I probably shouldn't do this.. But the address@address.com is really cookai@cookai.com

This is my main business email. IT seems only a few people have trouble with the relaying denied problem.

If you send an email to cookai@cookai.com I will get it. (providing you don't get the relaying denied problem)

I did ask my host tech support about the error messages and they said that it was something to do with sendmail and they had fixed it.. Well they didnt.

So any help would be great :)

Thanks again

Tracy

I spoke to tech support and they say the problem is on the senders end.

So does this now point to GM?

Hi,

If you can PM me the full headers unedited, along with your servers IP, I can take a look for you.

Cheers,

Alex
