PayPal IPN and port connections

PayPal IPN and port connections
My host has started blocking all ports (for added security), but it has meant I can no longer use PayPal's IPN when users pay for a mail account. GMail reports errors and I have to manually approve payments. (The payment is processed by PayPal, but no notification is received by GMail so the user is listed as pending and cannot login).

I wondered what my options were. My host suggests if there is a list of IP addresses for PayPal he can add these to his whitelist, so the IPN function will work again. I don't even know yet whether this is possible, even if there are IP's to use.

Any suggestions would be appreciated for getting the IPN to work again.

Your best bet would be to talk to PayPal about that. Otherwise, my logs show: notify.paypal.com (this resolves to multiple ips) and if you're using the sandbox, ipn.sandbox.paypal.com. Note that they may add/remove servers at anytime, so your solution could break at any time.
