Hi,
Most of my applications on my site are PHP4 and MySQL based. GMAIL is not and I was wondering if there were any future plans of converting it over to a PHP code. The reason I ask is I routinely have points where some functions are slowed. This often happens during logins, or other events. I often thought it may be due to my PC, but when I recently upgraded my servers RAM it made GMAIL work great.
I know changing code types is not simple and I don't expect it, but I wanted to pose the question to see. I've wondered what benefits GMAIL might gain by using PHP rather than CGI/Perl as the scripting language.
Thank you again for a great product. I'm enjoying the latest version immensly and so are my users.
John
