Mass Mail--Selected Users -- Search Criteria.
In 'Selected User' option how would i use the wild card option for search.

For example i would want to mail to all wth username starting with 'a' on a domain 'y'

i always get no data found if i do following

a*@y like

Where am i wrong wrt having wild card search on username for selecting the users to send mass mail to.

Hi,

Try a%@y. Use a % to do a wildcard. The forms don't support entering a * to match a wildcard, only a single * to match all entries (i.e. enter a * into ID to match all IDs). The % works due to it getting passed to the SQL Server.

Hi,

I did the search a%@y but the results indicate a query of %a%@y ie all records with 'a' anywhere is listed. I would want records with a in the begining of the email address.

Thnx

Hi,

The search form does not support that unfortunately.

I don't know how any of the internals work for GMail, but I did this as a plugin for Links SQL, "alphabar" does a search on start of word, or contained within. (It was designed to be an auto-generated alphabar, but it ended up as a modified search tool.)

Someone who has played with Gmail could probably make it work -- even with a code edit.
