Linux command for automatically restart

Linux command for automatically restart
Hello,

I know it's not the best place to post this message, but it's the closest one.

Sometime ago I read about a command (or something like that) that started services automatically when they stopped. My problem is that my outgoing SMTP is crashing quite offten without any apparent reason and this command would automatically restart it.

Do you know which is that command?

Regards,

Narcís

Well that depends on what mail server you are using and how you installed it and what /etc/rc.d/init.d scripts you have if any.

But it shouldn't be crashing often. Have you checked your logs?

Well,

Now it seems it is more stable. It seems that when someone that is not allowed to use SMTP tries to use it, then it crashes...
