I'm a novice at this but could anyone give me the steps to backup my database to a file/files using the SQL monitor? I'm looking for the exact statements to use.

Uh...if you have MySQLMan installed, then all you have to do is CLICK on SQL Dump text link OR EXPORT each table individually.

Thanks for the info. In the meantime, I went back to some instructions I found in the Links SQL setup where Alex mentions the procedure of making backups and restoring the backups using the mysqldump command via telnet. I tried that and it worked without a hitch. I made a backup.txt file with no problem.
