I was wondering if it is possible to include the multiple select box for alternate categories (that appears in admin validation) in add.html so that link submitters can choose alternate categories for themselves.

I am thinking this would be possile, but how do I call the MULTIPLE select form from add.html? <%Alt-Category%> or something?

It's not that easy. You'd have to have a way of passing that information into the Validate table, and there is no provision for that.

Since categories are going through a complete rewrite in the next immenent release (see the announcement) I'd wait before spending alot of time on it, since whatever you do is almost guaranteed not to work in the next release :)

Hopefully, it will be easier to do things like this, with the new logic.
