Which one to use????
I have a french search engine(I don't know if that changes something), and I tried to use search.cgi, but no results. But when I try to use search-ni.cgi it return something.
What's the defference between these two?Why does it do that?

You might want to wait until the next Links SQL version is released...FYI: The search-ni.cgi script allows special and accented characters. The problem is that the search.cgi does not work well with foreign characters.

But again...you might want to wait until the next version is released...which is targeted for tomorrow (07/14/00).

Ah... you need to add a "weight" to the fields in the links table for anything you want indexed, the same for the category table.

You can change that in the Admin/Tables area.

Anything greater than 0 means it will be indexed, and the number is it's relative weight (importance).

You then need to run re-index from the admin area. (or telnet)

At that point, the search.cgi should work, though it won't handle the foreign characters as well as search-ni.cgi, but with French that may not be a problem as it is for languages such as Chinese.

Also, make sure you set the "foreign_char" parameter in the Links.pm file to 1 (or on) so the program knows to handle accented and extended characters.
