Sub Categories Not Being Displayed

Sub Categories Not Being Displayed
http://www.weblinks.com.au/Business/

There is a sub category that is called Test but it isnt being displayed. The subcategory is in the category table. The template does have <%category%> and it is bascially the Altavista template modified. Even the altavista template doen't show it but links work fine. Its a real pain I tried dropping the tables and re creating the def files but all to no avail. The <%if category%> tags are also in place and I can't seem to see the problem.

Thanks
Jason

It looks to me like you don't have your <%category%> tags in category.html. The subcategories do not appear to be showing up under any of your main categories, yet you can go directly to them from the main page, so they're obviously there...

Main category
http://weblinks.com.au/Business/

Sub Cateogry
http://weblinks.com.au/Business/Test/

You can view them fine but _Test_ wont get displayed as a sub cateogry in _Business_

I havent had any problems before and haven't modified the tables in any way.

Also if you follow this Link you can see the sub category being displayed fine.

I tried using the snap category.html template but it didn't work either.

This one has got me stumped.

Make sure the subcategory is _exactly_ the same as the main category.

ie:

"This is my top level Category."

then the sub category needs to be:

"This is my top level Category./This is the subcategory"

Spaces, punctuation, and funny characters all count!

I wasn't able to get to your site last night. Taking a look at it now, Dan may be right. Are you using subcategory.html properly?

If you can, can you put your templates on-line as a .txt file? I can look at them and see if that is the problem.

If it's working in page.cgi, but not in the static html, I'd make sure you click on build all again.

Cheers,

Thats the template and I am building all after I edit a template.

The link gets displayed but not the subcategory.

Thanks everyone

You know what... copy your category.html template from the 'snap' subdirectory into your main 'templates' directory.

The page.cgi works when t=snap but not when the t=snap is removed. This may mean the copy of the template in your templates directory is damaged somehow.

Rebuild your site... also try page.cgi but without the "t=snap" parameter... just use it /path/to/links/page.cgi and pick "business" from your main menu and see what happens.
