I know that search.cgi uses altavista syntax which allow you to do things like "search term", but is there a way to make it search exactly? Meaning if I search for "free stuff" it will only return results that have both the word "free" and the word "stuff" instead of just having the word "free". This is how most search engines operate because it gives you better results.

You need to pass and set the "ww" for whole-word parameter.

Alex has made changes to the scripts, and engine, but I think that still works as expected. You can pass it from the form, or you can set it "on" in the script.
