From what I can understand from past threads, the related categories option is used to make virtual links to other categories - 'yahoo@' style???

What I'd like to know is the method you use to go about building or 'connecting' them.

Do you create the 'actual' category first, then create another 'actual' which will serve as the virtual? Then do you use the related function in the admin area to join them?
If so, which category do you put in the left field and which in the right?

I'm guessing VIRTUAL CATEGORY -> ACTUAL CATEGORY

Related categories are 'pointers' to other REAL categories.

The left side category (first one) is where you would like the related category to APPEAR, i.e.; /home/pages/business/consulting <- this is the page where the related category link will be shown

The right side (second one) is which category the link will jump to when clicked, i.e.; /home/pages/engineering/consulting/

So, on the page:
/home/pages/business/consulting

under the category list there will be a related link to:
/home/pages/engineering/consulting/
