Can anyone please help me on this? How can I make a search option for my user to search only one category and all it's sub category?

Also, how can I use different template for different category? I need this for dynamic detail pages as well.

All of this has been described before in the forum.

I don't implement any of it so I can't give you the details, but they are here in the forum.

Two people have created a 'single category search' mod.

The category record is enabled to allow you to use different templates with each category with only a few tweaks to the code. There are at least two threads on how to do that, and probably more.

Use the 'search' features here creatively, and you'll find all this information.

Yes...but, unfortunately, that Thread provides codes for earlier versions of Links SQL, NOT v.1.11.

Yes...look at the codes more carefully..Compare the code with what you have in Links v.1.11 and also read the responses at the bottom of the Thread...that complain that the codes DO NOT work in Links v.1.11. TRUST ME!

And again we have a thread for the search only mod and no solution.

The way how to do it should be clear from the older version, i have tried it for 1.11 but i fail cause of my poor perl-knowledge.

If the interest in this is big enough we could maybe do this thing together.
I will send my code the next hours ...

Well i can search on 1 field... like Add_Date = substring 2000-08.........

I have no sub-category's, so i can also search on 1 category with sub-cats ......

It's all done with IDSINFO.............. You also have that? Search in the forum for IDSINFO but you allready know that eh? .... Maybe with some mods we can make it work for searching on cat and sub-cats. But i don't have the time yet to figure it out and i am also a 'newbie' with perl....

I have the finish my other project with SQLlinks first before i start with my own project. Sorry..........
