I check that Links SQL2beta just launch, I just want to know is alternate categories bug has fixed in this version, if there's someone already try it, please let me know, thanks.

There are no alternate categories in the new links.

Links are assigned to one or more categories, and all are treated equally.

How do the links assigned to more than one category appear in search results? Do they show up once or several times? If they are all treated equally, I am thinking they will show up several times, but I'm not sure what you meant. I will have to do a bit of re-organization if so.. I'm hoping for less work :)

I am working on getting my beta working so I haven't been able to test this for myself.

Links should only show up once in the search results.

Each link is added to the search/index database only once. So, if you get a hit on that link, you will only get that one ID.

When you do a join to the categories, the link will be assigned to the first category match. Not elegant, but it works.

Solutions have been discussed, such as adding a priority field to the CatLinks table, but for now, the link is assigned to the first match.

Would most likely show the Link 18 in category 23, even though it is also in the 99 and 11 category.

I think it will work fine without any mods... The category management looks easier than ever now so I can't complain!
