Is LinksSQL for me
Hi!
I am going to have something like 1000+ CATEGORIES!!! I would hate to have 1000+ folder being built on my server and wish to have them called directly from the SQL database just like the links.... can SQL do this?!

Thanks In Advance

Regards

Gian

Yes, page makes it so you can build pages on the fly. If you never built the database. It would work for him. I think..

Also I have over 1500 categories at the moment and they are going to continue rising there is no problem with having hundreds of folders. Although once when I had to go and delete them all I had problems, as you might know you cannot delete a folder until its empty. So you have a big problem. But Telnet lets you delete them with or without being empty. So as far as I can see there is no problem to having a ton of folders.

I hope this helps you.

Hmmmm this is all very interesting.
Another factor was that i didnt need all the features in links SQL so it would be a shame to pay so much.

hyperseek was way outa my bracket

Then i discovered dirtsearch from dirtdobber.net

And this is exactly what i am looking for.

Thanks again everyone

If I remember well, dirtsearch is a php version of links2.0 but with a mysql database right?
So, it has a lot of features that Links SQL has!!

yes, tmoretti, dirtsearch is sql, but its also free... or it was when it was first put out...
not to mention that just because a person writes a script that uses SQL doesn't mean that it has many (or practically any, for that matter) of the features that linksSQL has... heck, i just wrote a program that uses SQL, and the only common feature is that it has multiple users... and actually, before i converted it to SQL, the database handling was disturbingly similar to links2... then i realized that i learned how to deal w/ databases FROM links2...
