Counter,
Hi All,

Is there a counter for links SQL, which will ultimately give you a list of page impressions for each category??

No, you will get static pages!
Or take the dynamic ones and save every call in a var.

This is a big problem I have too! All advertisers need to know what the traffic is in each category? Is there know way of doing this?

Hi there,

There must be a way that every time a category is clicked it would pass that information to a script like jump.cgi does with the links??

I think the best way to do this is using a CGI via SSI, so you can log all visits to each category...

I will do one for personal use in the next weeks, if you guys want a copy, please tell me there, then I will post it here.

There are several ways to do this.

With the integrated banner system in the next version of Links, you might be able to use your logo as the page counter, and count impressions that way, by giving each page an "affiliate code" such as CategoryNumber_PageNumber

Otherwise, you could switch to purely dynamic site building, and just count the "hits" through page.cgi

Using jump.cgi to count hits still imposes a penalty, that may not be that much less than dynamic generation, and you'll get much more functionality with dyanamic generation.

Hi,

doesn't SSI slow down the pages? Why don't you just evaluate your logfiles?
