right now I'm using Links 2 (flat) as a classified ad website. The db grew very big (about 30,000 ads) and I'm interested in upgrading to links 2 sql. can you help me with this questions:

- is sort of privacy mail mod available (did not find it)?
it would be great to have it working double way... I mean:
you have an ad, I answer. I do not see your email address.
you get my message. you do not see my email address. and
so on. therefore all the massaging should be done through
my website.
- bad word filter for privacy mail
- is sort of photo(s) upload availble?
- user should be able to browse through the ads, but they
have to register if they want to answer to an ad. is there
a way to get this working?

Not hard to include in the Recommend plug-in.

Looks like you have chosen not to search the forums. There are FILE UPLOAD plug-ins available. Search the LINKS SQL forums for file upload and also read the lengthy threads in the Custom Jobs Forum.

Yep...and with the new and improved USER MANAGEMENT system put in place in v2.04 and improving in future versions, this is not a problem at all...

Hi Eliot, thanks for your fast reply and sorry for not going through the forum about the photo mod.

I was just thinking about "privacy mail" and "recommend it" hack... and by following your advice to go through the forum (thanks again;) I got sort of idea.

Do you think it will be working to use
Links2 Sql + Vbulletin plugin + Vbulletin

and use the PM feature of Vbulletin instead of a "privacy mail" hack? does this sound good to you...? or do you think this may cause some problems to the scripts?

Although you would have to hack the PM feature a bit to reference and pull the appropriate USER record from the Users table. But shouldn't be too hard to do...

If there is a vB plugin that integrates the vB memberdb with the LinksSQL members....would you still need to do some hacking, or is it as simple as using that vB plugin?

Yes...there is!

Look in the Links SQL Plugins (go figure) forum...basically the plugin allows users to register and login through the VBulletin login script and allow them to add links via Links SQL...
