Hello everyone

I need a big favor. i am trying to import two directories from the ODP:
http://dmoz.org/Regional/Middle_East/
http://dmoz.org/Regional/Africa/
Into my links directory. I have tried several times but the server will time out always and I call the staff and they said i can not do that on the server, They said the only way around is to get those two categories in a smaller file.

i wonder if anyone out there with enough space or dedecated server can copy those two directories and give it to me.

I know it is too much but I do really need them.

There are a few threads from before, where it was discussed how to cut the dmoz file up into managable parts.

I used split - a unix function, to create smaller files of about 60 or 100 mb. When I looked at the files in 'joe' (joes own editor) I could see if the category I wanted was completely contained in the file. If it was, then I could run the parser on that section. If not, if it was split across a boundary, I had to figure another split parameter that would force the files to be in one part, or join the two parts together.

I simply don't have the time any more to do this for people. I keep looking for an rdf parser that would cut up the file, and I could offer segments of the cut file. Or, for DMOZ to start to offer their directory by main tree, so each file is smaller.

I will look into using Joe editor - if I can find it -.
In the mean time my editors are doing great, they have added over 1000 from those categories in the last week.
