Can the database name be changed?
Is it possible to change the name of the database that stores the links for my site? If so, how would I go about doing this?

Yes...

1) Change the name of the .def files and then rename the tables in the editor.cgi or in MySQLMan.

2) Then change all references to the .def files in your .cgi scripts.
