A question about database export and SSI
Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to either export or download the links from the LinksSQL database to local hard drive for use in MS Access. If it is possible, could you tell me what kind of steps will be necessary so I can have an idea of what I'll need to do once I install the program?

I'm also wondering if it is possible to run the results of a search through SSI... For example, If I already have a page about a book, and I wanted to list links related to this book within this page, would there be a way to just display the list of links on the page with something like " <--#exec cgi ...--> ?

Thank you.

Hi,

Yes it's possible. You can go to Database->Links->Properties->Export, and export the Links table into a text file (tab delimited) that you can then import into Access.

As for SSI, sure, you can do:

<!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/search.cgi?query=abook"-->

to display the results of a search for 'abook'. You can also do

<!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/search.cgi?query=abook&t=ssi"-->

and use a different template set so that ssi search results look different then your regular search results.

Cheers,

Alex
