i just installed the new version of link on a different server with a different mysql. how do i import my old database into my new links installation?

Could you be more specific with the versions of MySQL you are using?
Also, is this from LSQL 2.1.2 to LSQL 2.2.0 ? Is there any reason why you are doing the fresh install on another server, and then trying to transfer the database? It would be a *lot* easier if you run the upgrade on your current site, then transfered it all over, and then copied the database over (i.e a normal transfer).
The problem that arrives with the way you are trying to do it... is that there will be missing fields (i.e Expiry_Date), which version 2.2.0 requires.
Hope that explains the reason behind my madness =)
