has anyone installed the wwwthreads plugin?
Hi:

I was looking for a "real life" example of wwwthreads and links sql integration (using the existing plugin). I visited Pugdog's page (digital postcards) and Clint's affiliatedirectory (the ones that I found in a search that seemed to be using the plugin).

However on both pages the "integration" doesn't seem to be working. I created an account (BTW is there an option for webmasters of NOT asking the user to enter a validation code?) on both sites but when I went to the forum I wasnt logged...

Does anyone know of an example of someone using linkssql and wwwthreads tied together by the plugin?

Thanks

I'm not using it ... for the simple reason is I tried it and unfortunately would have had to move all my users into the wwwThreads database. Ideally the plugin would be perfect ... if it worked in reverse ... ie. the Links Database is used and wwwThreads reads from that!

Regards,

Clint.

Hi,

I'm using the w3t plugin on

http://origami.net
http://girlfriends.com

I believe them to be working on those sites.

It's _NOT_ implemented on the other sites. I have had it enabled, and disabled on the FAQ site .... http://linksql.com/ .... I don't know the current status there.

The plugin is not (and never has been) enabled on postcards.com. The reason is I was using the same database for 3 sites, so it wouldn't work for that.

Clint:

Thanks for the reply. I guess this is a problem for you (moving your users to wwwthreads) but it would be ideal for me (since I am starting the other way round, with wwwthreads). I was just curious about why the examples that I saw didn't seem to work...

Pugdog:

Thanks for the reply: I tried to use it in origami.net and got the following error on the create account screen:

Authentication Error: You can only create users from the WWWThreads admin panel. (that was after filling the data to create the account)

On girlfriends.com I tried to create an account (by hitting login and then new account) and some of the links took me to a search screen (instead of login screen. I guess you may be aware of this but it may help to let you know : ).
I was able to create a new account by hitting the "add a site" link and it worked very well, I was able to login and stay logged at wwwthreads, worked great.

Hmm.... I've been playing with origmai.net (as you can see it was upgraded to the new templates) might have missed something... but I've still been getting submissions...

Thanks, I'll check it out though.

I have the plugin installed on my site, and as far as I'm aware, there are no problems with it.

Good luck! :)

Ok, I looked at origami.net, and found the link was not pointing to w3t to register on the login.html page.

But what is wrong with Girlfriends.com ? I checked all the links, and I was sent to the w3t area each time to create a new account.

I'll be updating that site again, it's only 2.3, not 2.4... but it seems to be working.
