I have foreign_char set to "Yes" and I notice that when it builds at times it builds extra sub directories , one per span page, with each span page in them. In other words instead of

pages/36
index.html
more2.html
more3.html


I will get

pages/36/36/36

Each of these sub-directories have all the span pages in them. It doesn't seem to hurt anything, but I have to go back and remove these periodically.

which version of LinksSQL are you using?
I also had that problem with 2.03 but it seems that with 2.04 this doesn't happen (that means: since I upgraded I haven't got this error yet).

If you remove them and other search engines have indexed your site, users coming from that search engine will most likely get an "404 page not found" error, because the wrong URL will appear in the search results.
