Is it possible to only snow the category for the referring page on the add URL page instead of a drop down menu of all the categories? I have a lot of categories and the page take a long time to load.

Yes there it.
  1. Log into your Links SQL admin section.
  2. Click on Setup (top menu)
  3. Click on Build Options (left menu)
  4. Change settings for "db_gen_category_list" to "NO"

And you are done.
