Upgrade 3.0 error

Upgrade 3.0 error
When upgrading my 2.2.0 to 3.0 I receive this error during the installation:

Performing Links SQL 2.2.0 -> 2.2.1 upgrades...
Updating column definition for Rating in Links table...
Okay!
Updating column definition for payments_term in Payments table...
Okay!
Checking fk_tables...

Error

An error occured:

Can't call method "parent_ids" on an undefined value at /home/iunitech/public_html/cgi-bin/lsql/admin/Links/Table/Category.pm line 431.

Hrmph, that's a bit of a problem (for us). For you, it's completed the 2.2.0 -> 2.2.1 upgrade (well it didn't finish checking fk_tables), but to make it finish the installation, you'll need to edit install.cgi.

Search for the line where it says "Checking fk_tables". If you look a few lines up, you'll see:
Code:
Category => [qw/CatPrice CatLinks CatRelations Editors/],
Remove that line and rerun the upgrade.

I cannot find this line (even doing a search) in install.cgi. What line number should it be on?

Hrm, things have changed a bit in the installer since I last looked. I can't really think of a proper way to fix your problem right now. Is there a possibility of restoring it back to 2.2.0? If you can I'd recommend you do that and first upgrade to 2.2.1, then 3.0.0 using the respective installers (rather than directly using the 3.0.0 installer). Until we get this fixed in the installer, that's probably the best route.

Sure, and thanks for looking into it. Hopefully it helped find the bug anyways.

I could hold off installing version 3 if you want a 2.0.0 to 3.0 test when the time comes, its no drama for me.

We should have the installer fixed tomorrow. I'll let you know when get the new package up.

please let me also know asap if the new installer is available!


P.S.: Is there a way to get rid of the problem by changing anything manually in the tables?

I am only upgrading to the 2.99 and have the same error. I'm can't upgrade to the 3.0 at this time, I have custom mods and need to make sure they'll work. But I do need to upgrade to 2.9 becuase of the bug issues with the last imstall, build issues, timeouts, etc.
