Static page login using javascript
I have been trying to set up a small javascript to have the "Login" or "Logout" on a static page in addition to having "Welcome <%username%> on the static page.
I have tried various ways with no luck, is there a way to do this (not using ssi or .shtml pages, using java)?

I would think you'd need to read the cookie data.

I have not used static sites in about 2 years, so I'm fuzzy on how they work, especially in the current versions. *but* I'm pretty sure the logon status is kept in a cookie that links uses.

s=long_hash

Log on to your site, then go to admin->setup->environment and see.
