I'm brand new here, just unwrapping my Links SQL that Santa brought.

One of my big big goals for the directory I'm starting to build is to be able to collect the search engine queries made by visitors to the directory. Is this possible / easy ?

Another goal that I have is to allow searching of the websites that are registered on the directory using something like this Gigablast: http://www.gigablast.com/cts.html

If you mean is there a search logger, yes.

You'd probably be better off searching here for "improved search logger" and reading the messages, and downloading the code. it allows to pull "top" keywords and stuff, and build search pages like:
