FTP in ASCII mode or Binary
I just want to confirm that I am doing the right during my backup. I ftp all data (links) from the server to my computer. During the FTP I used binary mode. Am I doing something stupid here? Is MySQL data (the links I entered) in ASCII or Binary format?

hello,

the best way is to upload all scripts and files in ascii
Links-SQL uses scripts & files that only works when it's uploaded in ascii.

Images & .tar/.zip files you use should be uploaded binary.

Basically any file that you can open in a text editor and make sense of what's inside should be uploaded in ASCII, everything else should be binary.
