install.dat file corrupted?

install.dat file corrupted?
I have three issues with trying to install 2.99.1 from 2.99.0 in the updates download page.

firstly, the link to the install script sends me to $continue_url.

secondly, if I manually go to glinks2.99.1/install.cgi and run it I get a error. Opening it with an error reveals the path to Perl is not being set. Once I correct that, and try running again, I get a message saying install.dat is corrupted.

That's due to the update system being reinstalled, it thinks you have the GT::Template update installed when you don't. You can fix this by uninstalling all the updates and installing the ones which show up.

You mean the shebang (first line #!/usr/bin/perl, etc) isn't set right?

That one's a little strange, have you tried just untarring the file yourself to see if it really is corrupted?
