question about <%category%>

question about <%category%>
I was looking at home.html, seems like <%category%> tag will print out all the categories exist in your database. I want to change the way it prints on the screen for example adding a little folder icon next each category, make categories listing a little closer to each other or more distance or even print in 3 columns instead of 2... is there a <%category%> file I need to check it out? I didn't see it in the global.

No, I am lost... the only file I see is category.html which seems to deal with subcategory only. What's the file I need to edit to add a folder icon to each category or change the way categories display in main page?

"subcategory.html" is the file you're looking for. That is what is used to format the categories - ie. the <%category%> tags uses that template.

To display your categories in 1, 2, 3... 5 columns look at the Admin > Setup > Build Options page for "build_category_columns". You just enter how many columns you want displayed there.
