Hi,

Hmm, the one on the server is fine:

[root@alex alex]# gzip -d lsqldevalpha7.tar.gz
[root@alex alex]#

Any chance you sent it in ASCII mode? The packaging script is the same as well, so if you were able to get other ones working, strange about this one.

Let me know if you are still stuck and I can email you a copy.

Cheers,

Alex

I have to use

gunzip filename.tar.buggers.gz <G>

I'm on solaris, and that's how I was set up.

If you are on Solaris, there is a known bug in the included gzip, and you are advised to get the gnu versions.

I didn't set up my system (on that day, I was a Unix/Solaris newbie, and quite intimidated moving to a Sparc and Solaris all at once). My ISP set me up, so I can't swear to what I'm using.

But, .... something to think about.

Download the gnu versions.
