Modify Existing Category error

Modify Existing Category error
When I try to modify an existing Category by adding a Description or any other field, then press the Modify Category button I get the following:

Category: Modify Record

A category with the name 'Test2' already exists.

It seems like it wants to save the category as if it were a new one. If I change the name at the same time the save is successful.

to dup:

From Home select Database,
In Editor drop the first dropdown and select Category
In the second dropdown select Modify
Press Go
Type in the name of a existing Category next to "Name" and Press Search Category
Select a Category if you have more than one, press Modify Category
Type something in Description
Press Modify Category
You should get the error:
A category with the name 'Your Category Name' already exists.

Hi,

I'll look into it, sounds like a bug.

Cheers,

Hi,

This should now be fixed. It will appear in the next beta (due out sometime today).

Cheers,

Has this been fixed?

I downloaded Links-SQL2.1.0-Beta2.tar.gz and have this problem also.

I'm sure it's been fixed! That was over a year ago!

This is probably a new problem :)

goodness,

In my attempt to not start a new thread, I continued on a really old one and just assumed someone encountered the same problem. Anyway this was wierd, it's suddenly started working properly as soon as I added another field to the category database.
thanks for letting me know pugdo - i'll look more carefully in the future.
