Links 3.2.0 install problem
Hello,

I'm trying to upgrade from Links 2 . the process stopped for 10 minutes, and now when I try again it says :

Upgrading...

Gossamer Links is now being upgraded to 3.2.0. Please be patient, and do not hit stop.

Unarchiving (755) /postback.cgi
Error

An error occured:

Could not open '/postback.cgi': Permission denied
--------------------------------------------------------------

What can I Do ?

Hi,

Sounds like your server has permission problems (probably cos its not setup , maybe with SuEXEC)

Have you tried upgrading via SSH/Telnet?

Hi,

Mmm.. not really sure what to suggest. The problem is most likely your files are saved as web:web, but need to be user:user.

You could try contacting your host, and asking them to "CHOWN" the files for you, so that they have the correct user permissions (they should know what I mean =))

If you haven't already contacted support regarding this, it looks like the second time you ran it, you had wrong paths set, since it looks like it's trying to install right into /, which you won't have permissions to write to. Check your paths and urls.
