Integrated FileMan
Alex,

Cool to see this :)

The confusing thing is that the hyperlink on the right uses the HTTP:// protocol. In 99% of all situations, this is not going to be what people want to do. That really should be a 'chdir' if it's a directory, and 'view' if it's a file.

This is my thought, but since the goal of this is to manage files behind a cgi-bin/scriptalias directory, being able to use the http:// protocol through apache won't function correctly anyway -- or give the expected results.

Might want to eliminate the hyperlink, or change it as above. It's really easy to get confused... and sometimes it will show something that looks right, but is completely wrong for what people "expected" to see.

This should help eliminate the permissions problems though:)

If you don't like the above ideas, how about making the click on the file return a "properties" screen, like on Webmin, where you can see/change the file attributes or close the window. This is a "neutral" action that won't cause problems, and eventually train people not to do it.

One more thing.... moving into the plug-ins directory, I get:

Invalid Directory: '.../cgi-bin/FAQ/admin/Plugins/Installed'. Reason: Directory level too deep.

And, my directory tree is really short... only 2 or 3 levels to the cgi-bin.

If there has to be a limit to the levels of directories, it needs to take into account the fact that many virtual servers will have 3 or 4 levels or as many as 6 levels before the cgi-bin/ level.

Then, Links has cgi_root/admin/level1/level2/level3 in it by itself (at least 5 nested levels).

Just some glitches.....

Thanks for the comments, it was a quick import from the regular FileMan which is perhaps a bit to cautios about what it lets you do. I also want to have rmdir do recursive deletes so that if you want to remove your pages directory it will be very easy.

Cheers,

Alex
